Taylor's on her way... here are some resources

 The ERAS tour is heading for the UK soon, and there's plenty of geography to be had in exploring the economic and environmental impact of the tour and associated music as well as the interesting cultural implications of the event: the demographics of a typical crowd etc. 

The tour is said to have a major impact on an entire country's economy when it comes into town.

The first date is next week in Scotland, and it continues through June in Wales and Liverpool for several days, then returns to Wembley Stadium in August. Liverpool is rebranding itself as Taylor Town.

The University of Liverpool will host Tay Day, which it describes as a "symposium for fans, students and academics to engage with the cultural phenomenon that is Taylor Swift".

It will take place on 12 June and see academics from across Europe speaking on topics such as Swift's place in feminism. It is sold out.




I've been putting together some ideas for a while now, and half term is as good a time as any to put them out there... use them as you will.


There are some other stories that have made it into the news as well, including a perceived issue with homeless people in Edinburgh.

Have blogged about Jonathan Meades before, and his particular presentation style which I like... Lunchtime today was spent in the company of the first in the series "Off-Kilter", made for BBC Scotland and was about Aberdeen . I liked the look of the area known as Fitty. On the trail of the 'Detectorists'

As I was in Suffolk last week, I headed for Framlingham as I knew that there were various locations from the series 'Detectorists' and also a wonderful pub just a few miles away where we could go for lunch. Parked up in the Market Square, and from there it was a short walk to several locations. Here are plenty more on a map. Managed to track down four locations: the outside of the 'Two Brewers' pub (the interior was filmed elsewhere), Lance's upstairs flat, the shop where Lance's former partner sells Spiritual goods and scented candles, and the village hall where the DMDC met. Here's me outside said hut. Don't forget the uniformbooks book of course. Still available and an excellent read.
